GRB Anniversary – Year One

July marks the first year anniversary of The Get Rich Brothers. There have been countless learning opportunities over the course of this journey and we would like to share some of what has made this past year so special.

Through 53 total GRB articles, here is what we have found:

Accountability

Writing for an audience such as ours requires doing our homework. At-home investors can often become lazy as they do not have anyone fact-checking them or holding them to a certain standard. By building a base of readers who interact with us regularly, we have been encouraged (read: forced) to do our research and be sure we are providing accurate information.

Further, by having a forum to express our thoughts, we have noticed that we spend more time paying attention to what is going on in the world around us. Whether we are discussing the struggles of an entire nation such as Greece or following the political rumblings of a high-profile figure such as Donald Trump, we do more than simply gloss over news snippets. We dig deeper to find a story worth sharing.

A Mastermind Community

Personal finance is an incredibly fascinating subject which, sadly, often falls under the taboo category. People are prone to be guarded about their finances and prefer not to discuss them. That is, of course, everyone’s right. However, it makes it difficult to find likeminded individuals who are willing to share the details of their individual situation and brainstorm new ideas.

The dividend growth and personal finance community online is the perfect fix for people like us. We love telling our story and learning from those of others. This niche community is full of others who likewise enjoy learning and growing in a harmonious environment. For a list of quality bloggers, we have assembled a Blogroll. Other sites provide a similar feature and further demonstrates how open and helpful this community truly is.

Feedback

Receiving reader feedback both through the Comments section of our posts and through the many E-mails we have received is a gratifying experience. We are genuinely appreciative of every interaction we have with readers.

The reality is that writing a blog would not only be boring and fruitless, but actually pointless without readers. Readers are what make the engine of this community tick. A nice comment can literally lead to a brand new post because of the energy it brings with it.

Featured On…

We have had the opportunity to be featured on a number of larger websites who found value in the content we provide. That is one of the best forms of recognition we can receive as it really validates the effort we are putting forth. Having the opportunity to reach an even wider collection of readers is what this is all about. The entire reason we have been writing on this blog has been to share our story. When others with a greater scope get on board with no compensation expectations on their part but simply to spread the word, that’s first class in our books.

Conclusion

This year at GRB has gone by in a blur. We’ve been busy writing our own posts while simultaneously reading what others have to say in order to broaden our own perspective and stay abreast of what is out there.

We want to take this opportunity to thank every single one of our readers and say that we intend to continue bringing value to your lives with each post.

Sincerely,

The Get Rich Brothers

It’s true that personal finance has and probably will be a taboo topic of discussion. Not really sure why except for the fact that people measure their own “success” versus others and their tangible “assets” (cars, fancy clothes, vacations, etc.). Still, our online community is pretty open and does offer a lot of support and encouragement going forward. Sites like yours help perpetuate this phenomena. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary. Here’s to many more.

Thank you for the encouraging words! It’s hard to believe a year has passed already…. The great thing about our industry is that things are always developing, so there will be plenty to write about going forward.
